Infantil
This week in infantil, I have been reading The Gruffalo to the children during storytime and they have responded really well! The illustrations of the book are so brilliant and engage the children and I think many of them are already aware of the story so it makes it easier for them to understand the Egnlish words. I am also able to reinforce vocabulary about the body in a fun and interactive way.

Primary
Continuing our work from last week, in Primary we have been exploring deeper into Bonfire Night and the traditions that English people celebrate on the 5th of November.
In English classes 2-4, the children have been telling the story of Guy Fawkes and his friends using puppetry and drama. They began by learning the story and gradually they were able to portray the story indepedently.
In 5s, they worked in groups and made wanted posters for Guy Fawkes. They were able to work collaboratively and also present their work to their classmates. They worked on their descriptive language and presentation skills this week.
And finally, in 6. We have been presenting our own version of the story in groups. I presented the original story to the children and told them they could present it in any way they wanted, using a variety of artisitc techniques. Some groups decided to use storytelling, whilst others used puppetry and presentation. They were able to create their presentations with a little guidance and I am very impressed with their creations.

ESO/BAT
I have now finished meeting all of the 1st BAT students this week through conversation practice. I have seen much less of the 2nd BAT students as they have started their finals exams this week, I wish them all the best of luck!
The ESO classes have been very busy as, on top of their conversation practice with me which included topics such as landscapes and adrenaline activities, we have also been treated to a couple of presentations. The first presentation was from John Groves, a scriptwriter and father of 3rd ESO student Wilf. He spoke about the importance of writing a good script for a TV series or a film and what is included in a script. The students, as well as the teachers, were all very enthusiastic towards the talk! The second presentation came from a speaker from Education First who spoke about developing a growth mindset. This talk inspired the students to understand that they will face challenges, and these challenges are all part of learning and developing!
