Ens plau donar la benvinguda al nou curs escolar i presentar-vos l'equip de professionals que acompanya el nostre alumnat en l'aprenentatge de la llengua anglesa.

Aquest curs tornem a comptar amb la presència de les nostres tècniques d'educació infantil —la Grego, l'Adela i la Tao— com a personal de referència en anglès per als més petits. Així mateix, incorporem quatre noves auxiliars de conversa nadiues per a les etapes de Primària, ESO i Batxillerat, seleccionades en col·laboració amb l'empresa Bekith, que ens ha garantit la seva incorporació des del primer dia de classe.

Gràcies a aquest equip, els nostres alumnes tindran l'oportunitat de practicar l'anglès d'una manera dinàmica i significativa. Les auxiliars ajuden a crear situacions reals de comunicació, ofereixen models lingüístics autèntics i aporten recursos que afavoreixen una expressió oral més natural, fluida i segura.

Hi there! I’m Jael, and I’m from the United States. This is my first year as a language assistant here at Escola Pia Balmes, and I’m here to help out with the primary classes. My degree is in Spanish Philology and I’ve always had a passion for language learning, so I’m looking forward to using that passion to inspire the students I work with. I’m excited to get to know the students, share my culture with them, and most importantly show everyone just how fun learning English can be!

Hello everyone! My name is Anna and this is my second year at Escola Pia Balmes and my fourth year of being a language assistant. I am from the United States where I graduated with a degree in Social Work. This year I will be assisting in English classes in all levels of primary. My goal as an assistant is to help the students build confidence in their language skills through conversation and fun activities. I am very happy to be back and am looking forward to the rest of the school year!

I’m Leana from New York and I will be joining Escola Pia Balmes as a language assistant for ESO and Bachillerato. I graduated with a degree in Music from Columbia University and I love sharing creative interests with students. I have been teaching since last year when I received an English teaching certificate (TESOL) from Arizona State University and I look forward to sharing my native language with the students at Escola Pia Balmes!  


Hello, my name is Niamh and I am from Dorset, UK. I will be working as an English Language Assistant within ESO and Bachillerato. I graduated with a BA Geography degree from King's College London, and went on to complete my diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). I worked as an English language assistant here in Barcelona the previous year, and I am excited to support the students on their English journey at Pia Balmes this year.

Hello! My name is Grego, I'm from Barcelona, and I've been working at Escola Pia Balmes since 2007. As a Child Specialist Technician, I collaborate with the tutors and accompany the little girls and boys in their day, their routines and habits, the game and everything that happens inside the classroom.

Since this course, I am especially excited to be able to enrich my work with a new goal: to experience English as another language in the classroom. For children, it means learning to communicate with a real person, close and present in their day-to-day life, facilitating learning. For me, getting to know the project and knowing how important it is for English to be taught day after day, gives a new dimension to my work as a classroom assistant.

hello! I'm Adela, I previously held the position of the director's  secretary. Since my family situation changed, the school very kindly offered me the possibility of making a change of duties by offering me to participate as an English assistant in i4 classes. This is turning out to be a very nice experience, thanks to the students and the teachers, in which I see the every day necessity of being a better person cause we are in contact with what is most important, which are the children, their needs, concerns and helping them to develop the most positively way their personalities.

Hello!

My name is Tao and I will be your English assistant during this year. I am thrilled to help kids in their knowledge process!  I am delighted to be a part of this amazing team. Until June I will be working  with my colleagues to prepare engaging activities and immersing students in English. I’ll also be preparing psychomotor lessons and I’ll be assisting the teachers with SUMMEM and Jordi with English classes.

I have started doing all kinds of activities with the students including things such as : singing songs, working on daily routines and habits and also playing lively recess games and  board games. These games are a useful teaching resource. This is a fun way to allow the students to learn English vocabulary, develop  motivation and have fun.

My role is to offer guidance and assistance, as well as helping  children grow  in confidence with speaking and  

listening skills. I also get to answer any questions pupils may have during their learning process
