The students from English 2 ESO D have been participating in a very exciting project!

This is called Schools Song Contest and other schools in Catalonia take part too. It consists of getting the highest score in accomplishing the different tasks to win the contest. For task 1,  we chose a good topic, “addictions” and we made the CD front cover and the back cover to introduce our class/band, “The Beaters”. In task 2, we chose the song “The nights” by Avicci, and turned the original lyrics into new lines about how to beat addictions. Finally, in task 3, we shot the video showing how a few students overcome their “addictions”. Stay tuned, the video is about to be released very soon!

TASK 1

TASK 2

SONG CONTEST LYRICS

Once upon when we were teens,
some addictions came to us
alone we were unable to stop them.
Hey, went face to face with all our moods,
many problems just appeared
and everything then went out of control.
Somebody told me once then
you should let it go away,
but I didn’t listen to what he said.
And we start: smoking, drinking,
and playing video games,
using phones and hurting ourselves.
They said: one day you will all realise
that there’s a better way to do things,
my loved ones told me when I was just a teen
that we were playing with our health,
my loved ones told me.
(techno music)
We started to remake our lives,
step by step and working hard,
we helped ourselves and won the final war.
They said, go to rehab and search for help,
now I know that I am strong
because I love and trust myself again.
Somebody told me once then
you should let it go away,
but I didn’t listen to what he said.
And we start: smoking, drinking,
and playing video games,
using phones and hurting ourselves.
They said: one day you will all realise
that there’s a better way to do things,
my loved ones told me when I was just a teen
that we were playing with our health,
my loved ones told me.
Those were the cheers that kept us up.
my loved ones told me,
my loved ones told me.
