Un curs més, i dins del Projecte d’Escola Multilingüe, la nostra escola torna a donar la benvinguda als i les Auxiliars de Conversa.
Aquest any comptem amb 5 auxiliars que compaginen les seves tasques com a auxiliars lingüístics en les classes de llengua anglesa “speaking assistant” a Batxillerat, ESO i Cicle Superior de primària, amb les hores AICLE (Aprenentatge integrat de Continguts i Llengües Estrangeres ) d’E.F. i psicomotricitat, música, Natural Science, Maths, robòtica, etc.
Let me introduce you to…
Hello! My Name is Ninny and I'm from South Africa. This year I'll be working closely with the infantil kids, helping them to build and strengthen their foundational English language skills. I love kids, and I am super happy to be a part of the team here at Escola Pia Balmes. The kids are super adorable and the staff are lovely too. I'm looking forward to connecting with students and teachers, and sharing many conversations and experiences.
Back home in South Africa I studied English, Psychology and Cultural Anthropology. One day I hope to practice psychology, but for now I'm focused on learning a little more about people and the world. When I'm not at school you can usually find me on my bicycle going for adventures around the city, hanging out with friends, reading a good book, or trying a new recipe.
My love for people, culture, adventure and learning brought me to Spain one year ago, and kept me here for another year of teaching. I am hoping that this year will be just as full of love, learning and positive experiences as the last.
Hello friends and families! I am Erik, and I am a 26 year old from California. I am so excited to be returning for my second year here at Pia Balmes. I am a food, music, sports, and travel lover, so coming to Barcelona was a very easy choice for me!
I am currently assisting in Physical Education and Music classes, and I am having so much fun working with the kids to improve their English skills. In Physical Education, I start by taking attendance and making sure each student has brought their proper uniform. Afterwards I explain the games or activities that we are playing that day. My favorite part of Physical Education classes is "free time" at the end of the class, because I get to play soccer (football) with the kids. In the Music classes, we have a variety of different games and activities such as translating songs, creating choreography, and much more.
I hope to meet you all soon! I can´t wait for this next year, and I hope to meet you all soon!
23 antics alumnes de l’Escola Pia participen en un vídeo homenatge als mestres i professors en el dia mundial del docent.
“Els i les grans mestres t’acompanyen tota la vida”. Aquest és el lema que hem escollit per visibilitzar l’acompanyament a l’alumnat i l’impacte que té l’acció educativa pels estudiants. Cada un dels participants apareix al vídeo dient el nom d’un mestre o professor que, durant el seu pas com a estudiants a l’Escola Pia, els va marcar positivament per un motiu o altra. Una manera entranyable de reconèixer la dedicació d’aquestes persones a la professió i la petjada que han deixat als nostres alumnes.
Pere Arquillué, Ramon Pellicer, Judit Neddermann, Sandra Sabatés, Nandu Jubany, Txell Miras són alguns dels coneguts noms que apareixen en aquest vídeo homenatge. Tot de persones conegudes i/o reconegudes en el seu camp professional. Així, des de l’Escola Pia hem aconseguit reunir a antics alumnes dedicats al camp científic, artístic, social i, fins i tot, televisiu del panorama català.
Altres noms que apareixen al vídeo són: Mag Lari, David Bueno, Xavi Marcet, Jorgina Busquets, Sergi Belbel, Gemma Nierga, Paula Vélez, Eloi Cordomí, Albert Martos, Julen Gerrikabeitia, Laura Dubreuil, Sarai Gascón, Jordi Agustí, Sahid Ashraf, Sandor Martin, Miquel Salvó i Juli Fàbregas. Tots ells Alumni de l'Escola Pia.
Els i les alumnes de 4t de Primària hem gaudint de l'esport amb els nostres companys i companyes al Parc de Vallparadís de Terrassa.

Els nens i nenes de 3r de Primària hem anat d'excursió a Can Montcau a La Roca del Vallès per veure una granja i poder saber més sobre els animans vertebrats que veiem a l'itinerari del SUMMEM.
A la classe dels i de les Turistes d’Infantil 4 ens fem massatges amb molta estima. Ens relaxem i renovem la nostra energia.
Finalitzem amb un t’estimo que ens dona força per continuar endavant. Ho voleu provar?
Abans de la pandèmia, la nostra escola va participar per un projecte anomenat Youth for impact, liderat per AIESEC, que té com a objectiu principal contribuir de manera directa en l’objectiu global 4: Educació de qualitat creant consciència dels Objectius de Desenvolupament Sostenible (ODS). En concret, del punt 4.7 que aspira que els joves adquireixin el coneixement i les habilitats que es necessiten per a promoure el desenvolupament sostenible mitjançant l’educació de maneres de viure sostenible, drets humans, la promoció d’una cultura de pau i no-violència, la comunitat global i la creació d’una cultura de diversitat i contribució al desenvolupament sostenible.
Per dur-lo a terme, arribaran a la nostra escola 4 joves voluntaris internacionals (2 per a 5è de Primària i 2 per a Secundària i Batxillerat) i estaran amb nosaltres 6 setmanes. Entraran a les aules al voltant d'unes 10 o 12 hores setmanals i treballaran aquests objectius a través d'activitats dinàmiques i creant espais de reflexió entre el nostre alumnat, on l'idioma serà l'anglès.
Aquests 4 voluntaris han d’estar acollits amb famílies de l'Escola. La durada del projecte és de 6 setmanes, des del 6 de febrer fins al 20 de març. Acollir una persona voluntària d’AIESEC és una oportunitat per conviure amb una persona de parla anglesa amb qui podreu practicar, aprendre i millorar l’idioma i conèixer altres costums i cultures d'altres països. L'experiència pot ser molt satisfactòria pels vostres fills i filles!

Als Planetes, les Àligues i els Volcans ens encanta anar a Psicomotricitat!!
✔️Es creen relacions de mentoria entre un jove en situació de vulnerabilitat (11-15 anys) i estudiantat Universitari o de Grau Superior (18-30 anys) per fer mentoria en el lleure.
✔️ Quedar 1 tarda entre setmana o una estona el cap de setmana (a escollir, entre 2/3h aprox) realitzant activitats de lleure.

Aquest dimarts, a l’estona de DIES, l'alumnat de 6è C hem fet una Dimensió Interior relacionada amb l'empatia i expressió corporal.
Els nens i nenes ens hem posat lliurement per parelles i, amb una música tranquil·la de fons, fem sincronitzat els moviments de les dues mans al compàs. Després ho hem fet només amb el dit.
Estavem molt pendents de seguir a l'altre per interpretar conjuntament els moviments que els suggeria la música.
Un altre dia ho volem provar amb música menys lenta, tot i que serà més difícil.

Hi everyone! My name is Taylor and this will be my second year as a language assistant with Escola Pia Balmes! Last year was an incredible experience for me being able to work alongside some fantastic students in Primary, ESO, and Batxillerat. Each day I go to the classrooms and work with students on their English speaking skills. Working together with the teachers here is an amazing opportunity and the students get a great immersive experience with the language. I take pride in being able to connect with the students and make them feel great about the process of learning each day.
I’m originally from the state of Vermont in the United States of America! It’s been a pleasure sharing stories and connecting with so many students. Everyone in this community has a passion for living an adventurous and purposeful life and I can’t be happier to be a part of it.
My love for travel and outdoor adventure led me to Spain and I’m not sure if I ever want to leave, I love Catalonia! I'm working on my Spanish so hopefully sometime soon I’ll be able to maneuver around the city better! If you see me in the hallways feel free to say hi.
Hi everyone, my name is Millie, I am so excited to be a part of Escola Pia Balmes! I will be one of the new language assistants here to work on the student’s english conversations. I am from the North of England and am ready to learn all about the Catalonia!
I’ve worked as a Psychologist in England and am very passionate about Child Psychology and Mental Health. Most of my family is Scottish and love the Celtic football team, I am looking forward to telling them all about Spanish football too.
