This year I am helping in 1st ESO Natural Science. I help in the class helping the students with their exercises or understanding the work in English and helping them prepare for oral presentations by checking their grammar and pronunciation.

The students are always excited to go to the laboratory to do practicals related to the work we are doing in class. I collaborate with the teachers by explaining and helping the students in the laboratory.

This week we did a practical with Planarias. They are animals that live in fresh water such as rivers or ponds. They are very interesting animals as they can regenerate themselves due to the stem cells that they have and therefore they are used a lot in research.

In natural sciences class we recently studied asexual reproduction, so now we have been able to see one exemple of fragmentation. We cut one planaria in the half and we waited for one week for it to regenerate. We can see planaris under the microscope and we studied their structure and how they can regenerate.

This was a very interesting practical as the learners were able to use the microscopes to see the details of the planaria as well as observe an example of asexual reproduction.
