I have been a language assistant at Escola Pia Balmes for the past year. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and love interacting with the learners and helping them improve their English skills. I think it is an amazing opportunity for the students to have language assistants at the school to do speaking activities with and to help them improve their speaking skills.

I work with the students in 3rd and 4th ESO as well as the advanced students of 1st and 2nd Batxillerat.

My main focus with the students of ESO is to do speaking activities with the learners in small groups. I love getting to know the students better and to hear their opinions on different topics. I feel it is important to make them feel comfortable and to gain the confidence they need to speak in English.

With the students of Batxillerat, I have about 20 students per class, in each year. During our classes we work through their student book, have discussions on different topics and play different games. These students all have the First Certificate in English and therefore all have a very high level. I think it is important that these students continue to practise and continue using and improving their English skills as it is a very useful language to be able to speak and use.

I have seen a huge improvement in many of the students' speaking skills since the beginning of last year.
