To celebrate Saint Valentine’ s the 1st ESO Advanced students have chosen their favourite love songs and described to the class why and what they feel when listening to them:

1. GERMAN CAMP. ED SHEERAN PERFECT: I like the lyrics of this beautiful romantic song; and the musician Ed Sheeran is one of my favourites. His music makes me feel happy, cheerful and safe. I usually listen to it when I am sad.
2. MARTINA BARRERO. ED SHEERAN THINKING OUT LOUD: I think it’s a very beautiful song. Two years ago I played this song on the piano. The lyrics talk about the singer who says he’s really in love with a girl. He talks about his feelings and his emotions. I chose this song because it makes me feel happy and calm.
3. ÀLEX ORRI. CELINE DION MY HEART WILL GO ON: It’s a good song and reminds
you that love does not always have a happy ending. The lyrics talk about one man and one woman who fall in love and they cannot stand each other. Finally death separates them. I feel sadness when I listen to it because one of them died and they were a good couple.
4. MAKSIM MIROSLAVOV. SHAWN MENDES - THERE'S NOTHING HOLDING ME BACK: I’ve chosen this song because the singer does not use auto-tune in his live concerts, I really like his voice, and in this song he shows off his singing skills the most. I think he is unique. The lyrics make sense and go along with the video, they talk about a couple who are crazy for love and they have fun all over the city. It really can make your day or make you happy and forget about everything and just relax.
5. CLARA LÓPEZ. WHY DON'T WE JUST TO SEE YOU SMILE: It’s a very beautiful song which makes me feel really happy because the lyrics are lovely. The song is about the five guys and all their fans. They say they would do anything for their fans who are amazing and also that they have something different, something magical which other people don’t have.
6. ANNA ESCODA. ELLIE GOULDING - LOVE ME LIKE YOU: I have chosen this song because it’s one of my favorite love songs and I like her other songs, too.
The lyrics explain the love that a woman feels, how happy is when she is with him, what she thinks about him and how she loves him. When I listen to it, it makes me happy and feel good with myself. I think that it’s a really good song for valentine’s day.
7. LAIA VALLS. BRUNO MARS - WHEN I WAS YOUR MAN. It reminds me of a friend who played it to me on a piano. The lyrics talk about the singer, who has split up with his girlfriend, and he tells the girl all the things he could have done not to lose her. I really like the song because the singer shows how sad he is. I feel a little sad when I hear it, because he makes you know perfectly that he is apologising the girl.
8. JANA ZARCO. Christina Perry -  A THOUSAND YEARS. the rythm and the lyrics are fantastic. I think I can get to understand what the person wants to convey with this song. The song talks about someone who is afraid to love or succeed in love. But she wants to be with this boy forever, for this reason the song is called a thousand years. It reminds me of my family and all of my friends.
9. IAN BOWEN. BEATLES - BABY YOU CAN DRIVE MY CAR: I like this song because it’s one of the little non cheesy romantic songs and I used to listen to it when I was a little kid. The song is about a man who says he doesn’t have any money but he can give her something else, such as love.
10.SÒNIA LUNA. JULIE MICHAELS - ISSUES: I think it’s a good song to dedicate to your boyfriend or girlfriend on St. Valentine’s Day to express your feelings. The song says that they have issues/problems and they want to solve them. In a relationship we should do the same. When I listen to this song, it reminds me of the summer, on the beach… And I feel like singing it. Deep down they love each other a lot. And they think that this type of love has to be saved.
11. DAVID LÓPEZ. METALLICA - NOTHING ELSE MATTERS: I think that is a very good song because the singer do it in honor of his grandfather who had recently died. When I listen this song I feel a little bit sad, because my grandfather died recently too. This song reminds me of all of my family and my best friends. I think that this song is not very romantic, because the love in this song is not to your boyfriend or girlfriend, the love is to your family in this case for his grandfather.
12. JAN CONTIJOCH. JOHN LEGEND - ALL OF ME . My sister has sung this song a lot of times. Since she sings it so well and puts a lot of feeling into it, it makes me feel inseparable from her. When I hear the song I get a little melancholic and emotional and I think of the people I love, the lyrics are about how love doesn’t need to be perfect, just true.
13. BRUNO DIA. DAFT PUNK & JULIAN CASABLANCAS - INSTANT CRUSH:
It’s one of my favorites, I love it and the artists are my favorite ones. The melody is very pleasant to hear because of the effects, the beat, the instruments and the artist’s tuned voice. The lyrics are great - they talk about a guy who can’t even be with the person he is in love with and remembers all the time they spent together. It always makes me feel great and happy and I listen to it and sing it anywhere or anytime.
14. MARTINA SERRA. HEY THERE DELILAH - PLAIN WHITE T’s: It is one of my favourite songs and I love the voice of the singer. When I listen to it I feel romantic. The lyrics is about two lovers who live separate and want to be together. The singer talks about how beautiful she is despite them being so far. In the song, they talk about their future together, too.
15. ANNA PURROY. SOMEONE LIKE YOU - ADELE: This song makes me feel very relaxed and I think Adele has an amazing and really powerful voice. This song also reminds me of when we went on a trip by car with my family and I often listen to it when I feel angry.
The lyrics talk about a girl who lost her partner (he left her for another girl) and she is very sad. She says that it doesn’t matter, that she will find someone like him.
16. JAN LETTO. ROLLING STONES - MISS YOU: I went to a concert last year of the Rolling Stones, I like this music very much. The lyrics are about a couple who splits up; the singer is explaining that he wants his lover back. When I hear this music I remember when I went to the concert so it makes me feel happy.
17. LAIA JOSA. BRUNO MARS - MARRY YOU: It has rhythm and it’s a beautiful song; it makes me feel happy and energetic; this song reminds me one day I went to a wedding with my cousins and they played this song. The song talks about a boy who is in love with a girl and he wants to marry her.
18. RITA BERTRAND. SHAWN MENDES - THERE' S NOTHING HOLDING ME BACK: It’s a love song different to the typical love songs because have a fast rhythm and it’s a lively song when I listen to it I’m feel very happy and this song reminds me the good memories of this summer with my family and friends. The song is about a boy that sings to a girl, he says he wants to be with her.
19. JOEL BERG. SCORPIONS - STILL LOVING YOU: I like this song because it’s a famous song from a famous band and because I listen to it at home and I like it. It makes me feel sad but at the same time hopeful. The lyrics are about a couple who split up but the boy still loves the girl and tells her to come back.

20. AITOR. ED SHEERAN - PERFECT: The first time I paid attention to the lyrics of the song was in the English class. The song’s video clip is recorded during a trip with friends to the snow. This reminds me of me having very good friends and I would like to go with them to the snow someday. Then, the lyrics of this song express the feeling someone has when they fall in love.
21. MARTINA BARECHE. PINK - JUST GIVE ME A REASON: I think that on St. Valentine’s day it’s a good way to say to your boyfriend or girlfriend this will never happen to us, you can say this because the song is about how in the beginning of the relationship things are beautiful and after time things change, they are willing to learn to love again. When I listen to it I feel like singing and I feel that I’m in the video clip.
22. AINA FONTDEVILA. BRUNO MARS - JUST THE WAY YOU ARE: It’s a very good song to sing or to dedicate to someone special for St. Valentine’s day. I like the singer Bruno Mars and his songs, but in particular this one because it is very romantic and tender. When I listen to it I feel a little motivated to do homework and at the same time I feel relaxed. In the song the singer says to a girl that she is beautiful, he loves all of her and the way she is, but when he compliments her she doesn’t believe him. He tells her he would never ask her to change.
23. JIA YI JI. PHOTOGRAPH - ED SHEERAN: I like this song because two years ago I really liked, and I listened to it all day long. The lyrics of the song talk about what love can do, because love sometimes can hurt and sometimes can’t. This song reminds me when I was child because in the video we can see a younger Ed Sheeran.
24. MIQUEL PALMÉS. JAMES ARTHUR - IMPOSSIBLE: This song makes me feel invincible for a few moments. On sad moments it makes me feel happy. I like the lyrics because they talk about a boy who is separated and tells her that his heart is broken and he was happy with the relationship. He didn’t want to end it.
25. CLARA PALMÉS. MARIAH CAREY - ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU: I think Christmas is the most romantic period, so this song talks about Christmas and love. The lyrics says that for Christmas, she doesn’t want presents and things, she only want to spend time and be with him. When I listen to this song, it is often because Christmas is coming, so I feel very happy and excited.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]During this term in drama we have been working on giving the children confidence in speaking English but through the medium of Theatre.

This is such a brilliant way to introduce new vocabulary, pronounciation and intonation because the children forget that they are even learning English.

We have been doing a variety of speaking, miming, expression and focus activities to give the pupils the skills they needed to perform the play.
I chose the story- Guess How Much I Love You by Sam Mcbratney because it is such a relatable story for everyone. It follows a family of rabbits who have a competition about how much they love each other and there are lots of other characters along the way that we meet too. I worked on adapting this book into a play so that all of the students had at least two lines each to say.
The book explores themes such as love, friendship and family- all of which are very important things within everyones lifes. It also requires a lot of physicality to become a character such as a rabbit or the moon for example. So, for the first few weeks we explored how we could use our bodies to become different objects and how we could work as a team to do this too.
The children not only spoke a lot of English during our four weeks together but they also learnt a lot of valuable skills such as, listening to and following instructions in English, collaboration and working together, learning and memorising script material, professional behaviour within a theatre, projection and most importantly we had lots of fun along the way.
If I was to develop this project I would have liked more time to explore the story with the children so that it could have been a more personal experience. It went very well but had we had more time we would have been able to explore the physicalities of the characters more. Also, I would have been able to build more of a relationship with the children as I had not worked with them before.
Pol (The Theatre teacher) and I, worked cohesively together and I am very happy with the professional relationship we managed to build up over the four weeks of working together.
Gaining feedback from the teachers I believe everyone was happy with the final show and the process. [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Avui ha vingut a l'Escola en Ramon Creus, pastisser de l'Obrador Sense Gluten. Ha realitzat una master class de pastisseria per celíacs als nostres alumnes de PFI d'Hoteleria. Tant al matí com a la tarda han realitzat les següents elaboracions:
1. Pastís de formatge individual.
2. Palmeres de sucre o xocolata.
3. Galetes amb trossets de xocolata.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]El “dijous gras” o “dijous llarder” també conegut com el dia de la truita, dona el tret de sortida a les festes de Carnestoltes arreu de Catalunya. La costum d’aquests dies ve molt marcada pels àpats dins l’àmbit familiar protagonitzats per les truites, els ous barrejats amb la carn, les botifarres d’ou i la coca de llardons.

Les celebracions al aire lliure son les protagonistes per jornades gastronòmiques dedicades a productes com el porc, esmorzars per part de les escoles amb un entrepà de truita.

Avui els alumnes de PFI de cuina hem fet unes coques de llardons boníssimes, us ensenyem la recepta!

COCA DE LLARDONS
Per poder fer-la amb la mainada de casa, la pasta de full la podem comprar-la a qualsevol supermercat, també la que venen sense gluten surt boníssima!!

INGREDIENTS
500 g de planxes de pasta de full (comprada)
250 g de llardons picats, ben esmicolats
1 ou per pintar
un bon grapat de pinyons o palet d’ametlla
sucre

Elaboració:
-Estirar la làmina de pasta de full amb un corró.
- Dividir imaginàriament la làmina en tres parts longitudinals.
- Escampar per sobre la franja central la 1/3 dels llardons i un grapat de sucre.
- Doblegar una banda sobre la franja central i xafar-la una mica amb el corró.
- Repartir per sobre la resta de llardons i un terç de sucre.
- Tapar amb l’altra banda i tornar a xafar-la amb el corró.
- Estirar la massa fent un rectangle, repetim la mateixa operació.
- Ara tenim un petit rectangle, serà la coca.
- Pintar la coca amb l’ou batut i espolsar-la amb la resta de llardons, sucre i pinyons.
- Coure la coca al forn a 190º fins que sigui daurada, uns 20-30 minuts.

NOTA:
Normalment amb aquesta quantitat us sortiran dues coques mitjanes si talleu el rectangle per la meitat o una gran, això ja al vostre gust!!.
