Included within the Projecte d’Escola Multilingüe, students from 5th primary have been studying an hour of Medi in English for the last two terms (Science).

In the first term the topic was Matter and Forces. During that term they were exposed to many contents such as property of matter, chemical and physical reactions, etc. In the second term the topic was Living Things. The students learnt that life forms can be found everywhere on Earth. They were introduced to the five Kingdoms (Plants, Animals, Monera, Protist and Fungus) and they also recognized the cell structures (plant and animal) they have already studied in Medi, but this time in English!

We are just about to get into the new topic, The Universe. But we wanted to share some of the students thoughts and photos of our last topic before. Here is the display we prepared at the end of the second term about Living Things, as well as some students comments.

Students comments:

“ Science corner of Living Things is much better than the Matter and Forces one”.
“ We learnt that the cell is an organism, that includes the vacuoles, the cytoplasm, the cell membrane and that the nucleus controls everything. The plant cell has two more parts than the animal cell.” 5è B
“Science is good because is Medi in English and you learn lots of things”.
We practice English and we do Medi.”
“Aquest curs amb Science ha estat bé, perquè aprendre amb un altre idioma és bo.”
